Wilmonda McDevitt

Wilmonda McDevitt is an alumnus of American School for the Deaf. After she received her bachelor's in Sociology and Masters in Social Work at Gallaudet University, she worked in Student Life for more than 22 years. Before working at Texas School for the Deaf as Director of Student Life, Wilmonda worked as Associate Director of Residential Life at South Carolina School for the Deaf and Assistant to the Deans at Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. At TSD, she has served several different roles, including Student Life Supervisor, overseeing Student Development and After School programs, Residential Supervisor for High School Boys, and Assistant Director of Student Life before promoting as Director of Student Life in 2016. Wilmonda has been part of the National Student Life for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (NSLDHH) since it was first implemented in 2011. Wilmonda was the chairperson of the NSLDHH conference in 2015. She is currently on the board as the Assistant Coordinator of the organization. She enjoys photography, hiking, and traveling. She currently resides in Austin with her wife, Jennifer Campero, two boys, and three poodles.
